Description

This is a newly created role that would suit a qualified accountant with at least 3 years' experience in a business partnering capacity. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial focus and a proven ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive monthly project performance reviews and analysis to inform business decisionsIdentify variances and trends across projects, implement corrective actions as neededEvaluate budget Cost Value Reports prepared by the commercial teamAssist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly project Cost Value ReportsPrepare monthly project Work in Progress and Accrual figures for all entities in the GroupEnsure project forecasts are updated and key project data is reviewed and accurately reportedConduct in–depth audits of project reports, identify and mitigate financial risks, and report findings to managementMonitor retention release dates and liaise with the commercial team regarding scheduled settlement dates

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g. ACCA, ACA) is preferredExperience in commercial finance, within the construction/engineering industry, with a background in project accountingStrong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levelsAbility to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlinesProficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or other analytical tools is desirable but not essential
