Our client is a well-established and growing independent accountancy practice based in Liverpool, operating across the North West. Role Overview - Audit Manager

The successful candidate will play a central role in managing audit engagements, developing client relationships, and contributing to the growth of the audit department.

Managing and delivering audit assignments from planning through to completionActing as the main point of contact for a varied client portfolio, including SME/owner-managed businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and professional practicesLine managing and developing a team of 3-4 staff membersReviewing audit work and ensuring compliance with UK auditing standardsTaking an active role in business development, including:Supporting pitches and tender processesIdentifying opportunities within existing client relationshipsBuilding commercial awareness and visibility within the firmAssisting with ad hoc projects including due diligence assignments and complex accounting issuesSupporting the firm's audit quality control processesWorking closely with senior leadership with the aim of stepping into an RI role in the short term

Role Requirements - Audit Manager

ACA or ACCA qualifiedProven experience operating at Audit Manager level within a UK practiceStrong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standardsBackground in general practice with experience managing multiple audits concurrentlyExperience supervising and developing junior team membersExposure to not-for-profit or SME audit work is highly desirableExperience with SRA Accounts Rules reviews would be an advantage, but not essential

Salary & Benefits - Audit Manager
