Accounts Assistant / Accounts Receivable

6 Months Fixed Term Contract

£35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Our market-leading client is looking to secure the services of a new Accounts Assistant to join their team. Reporting to the Financial Controller this role involves managing rent and sales ledger transactions, including setting up customers, processing charges and receipts, handling house sale invoices, and performing bank reconciliations. It also includes month-end processes, providing financial analysis, and covering for another Accounts Assistant when needed.

As the Accounts Assistant, you’ll be accountable for;

* Rent Ledger Management: Ensure accurate setup and management of customer accounts in the Rent Ledger

* Financial Processing: Handle the processing of rent receipts, sale invoices, and other financial transactions

* Reconciliation and Month-End Closing: Perform bank reconciliation and complete month-end closing activities for various ledgers

* Financial Analysis: Provide financial information and analysis to support business operations and decision-making

Skills & experience required of the Accounts Assistant role:

* Typically, at least 2 years’ experience in Rents or AR (Accounts Receivable) role,

* Experience of handling high volumes of transactions,

* Experience of working on own initiative and doing A-Z in Rents / AR

* Experience working effectively within a team and supporting other areas.

Advantageous

* Experience of working in a social housing provider,

* Experience of Aareon QL Accounting Software,

* Capital grant accounting experience, if not, training provided

* Excel Pivot Tables, v-lookups
