Accounts Assistant

Plymouth

Full time (35 hours per week)

£22,000 - £25,000 per annum

Our client strives to be innovative and stand out from traditional accountancy practices – for example, they finish at 4:30 pm every day and work in a vibrant, modern, open-plan environment.

They have grown considerably in the last couple of years and are looking for someone to join their expanding team. You really will be a key part of their planned future growth, helping mould and grow the team and be included in their future plans.

In return, they are looking to offer:

An annual salary of between £22,000 - £25,000 per annumHoliday commencing on 30 days per annum including bank holidays (pro-rated) increasing after 2 years of full employment up to a maximum of 35 days per annumTraining and study package for suitable candidatesEnrolment into the Company Pension Scheme with Employer Contributions in line with Auto Enrolment LegislationProfessional Subscriptions e.g. AAT/ACCA paidDeath-in-Service Life CoverVarious paid-for team eventsCompetitive salaryFlexi-Time policy (applicable after probation)

The Job:

Preparation of company accounts and tax returns from underlying and ensuring these are submitted on a timely basis. This will involve the use of our client's accounts and taxation package.To ensure that all bookkeeping and related client objectives are met on a timely basis.Working with the team to ensure that all VAT & CIS returns are submitted in a timely and accurate fashion.Visiting clients - where relevant to obtain records, to facilitate the above.Production of Tax returns from source income data. This will involve use of our taxation package and liaison with clients.

Requirements:

Part or newly AAT qualified3 years minimum Practice experienceAbility to work independently and produce accounts to a trial balance stage for companies and sole tradersThe ability to apply self-learning and develop technical knowledgeWe want a “Team player”, with a positive “can-do” approachA pro-active personality with a drive to succeedA strong level of attention to detailDemonstrate high energy levels and enthusiasm
