Extremely experienced KS1 to GCSE Maths, English and Science Tutor
Walthamstow, London
Description
Hello
Above are the results of some of my high attaining students, who did exceptionally well!
Having previously worked as a Legal Secretary for over 6 years; I found a passion for teaching. I gained 9 A*-C GCSE's including English, Maths and Science and have completed an NVQ in Business Administration.
I have over 12 years experience in private tutoring and have tutored numerous children throughout the KS1,2 & 3 and GCSE Curriculum and they have proceeded to attain above expected results in their SATS and GCSE's.
I have thorough knowledge of both primary and secondary curriculums, therefore able to teach effectively and with confidence. I follow the National Curriculum as set out by the government, to ensure students are taught accordingly.
Primary Maths - Regular arithmetic tests and reasoning tests are conducted to ensure progress is being made. Working through topics to enhance knowledge.
Primary English - Particular focus is given to grammar as well as focusing on comprehension and writing.
GCSE/Seconday English - Implementing PEE, annotating texts, improving inference skills, learning language techniques and working on creative writing skills. Practicing exam board, specific past papers to instill confidence.
GCSE English Literature - Confident and able to teach many texts including "An Inspector Calls", "Romeo and Juliet" and many more.
Poetry - this is a particularly difficult aspect of English Literature GCSE; 15 poems have to be revised (off by heart). Support is given with annotating, understanding poetry and knowing which poems to compare with which.
GCSE Maths - Working through (9-1) maths topics and practicing past papers. Regular tests and homework given.
GCSE Science - able to teach biology, chemistry and physics. Supporting students to make revision notes, working through the syllabus and practicing exam questions; I HAVE ACCESS TO HUNDREDS OF EXAM QUESTIONS WHICH GIVE STUDENTS AN ADVANTAGE, AS THEY GET A CHANCE TO PRACTICE THESE PRIOR TO EXAMS.
Following an initial assessment, lessons are tailored specifically for each individual to ensure sufficient progress is made, this is the most effective way in which students learn, understand and progress.
I am available in the evenings and weekends. I teach from my home, so your child will be dropped off and collected to/from my home by yourselves (I am based in Leyton).
90% of my students move up a set within 2-4 months of beginning tuition with me. If you would like your child to achieve above average results then give me a call and I will definitely help your child flourish and excel in their academic life.

My son, who is in year 6 at the moment, was working at year 4 level. After 6 months intensive tuition he passed his year 6 SATS. You supported my son and myself, immensely. I was so worried for my son, he was on low sets for maths, english and reading. However, with your support, he quickly improved. I'm so grateful for everything you have done for us. My son will continue tuition with you until he sits his GCSE's.
(Year 6 parent)
My daughter, in year 6, was nervous and unsure of her abilities. Within 2 months of lessons, you filled her with confidence. Now after 8 months of lessons; she is a completely different child. Full of confidence and successfully passed her SATS. We are eternally greatful. My daughter is now a lot more confident about going to secondary school; and we hope you can continue to support her with secondary education. Thanks a million!
(Year 6 parent)
Within 2 months of tutoring my son for his English GCSE Literature and Language exams, he went from an E (grade 2) to a C (grade 4). You instilled him with confidence and taught extremely effectively. Exam results due in August 2017. Can't Thank you enough!
(Year 11 parent)
Thankyou Rifat for all your support! My daughter, in year 5, was working towards year 3 after 6 months of lessons with you; she is now being taken out of class to work towards year 6. She has secured the year 5 syllabus and is making tremendous improvement. Thankyou for support and commitment!
(Year 5 and Year 9 parent)
I decided to give my son, who has been attending lessons with you for over a year now; a break from lessons due to the fact that he has completed his SATS. He was devasted as he was missing you and demanded that his tuition be booked for this week. Thank you so much for creating the love of learning in him.
(Year 6 parent)
Since you've been tutoring my son he achieved the highest score in the class in his mock SATS tests. I'm very proud of his achievements since he began lessons with you.
(Year 2 parent)
You are so generous with your time, and I am really pleased with the commitment and dedication you have shown towards my childs education. So much so that I have recommended you to numerous friends
(Year 4 parent)
You always take the time to tell me exactly how my daughters lesson went, and I love the fact that you give lots of homework to ensure what she has learnt in lesson is remembered at home.
(Year 8 parent)
Thanks
Rifat
