The process to login to Gumtree – and logout – differs depending on whether you are using our website or the Gumtree app.
How to login and logout on web
Once you’ve registered your account, you can login to get started.
- Click Login/Register on the Gumtree homepage.
- Enter the email and password you used to register.
- Click Login.
- If asked, follow the instructions in the reCAPTCHA test and hit Verify.

Having trouble with reCaptcha?
If you’re having trouble selecting photos, you can click the Get A New Challenge button to reset it, or select Get An Audio Challenge to listen for a passphrase instead.
How to logout
- Click on the user menu
at the top of the page.
- Click Logout.
You will be logged out of your account right away. This only works on the device you used to logout. If you also use another computer or mobile device, you will remain logged in there until you logout using that device.
How to login and logout on IOS
Once you’ve downloaded the Gumtree app and registered your account, you can login to get started.
- Tap My Gumtree along the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Sign In.
- Enter the email and password you used to register.
- Tap Sign In.
If can’t login following these steps, make sure that you’re using the correct email address and password. For help resetting your password, read our Changing Your Password article.
How to logout

- Tap Sign Out.

- Tap on the hamburger menu
in the top left corner of the screen.
- Tap Sign In, then tap Sign In again.
- Enter the email and password you used to register.
- Tap Sign In.
