What qualifications should a massage therapist in Kent have?

When seeking massage services, ensure the therapist is qualified and insured. Look for certifications from recognised professional bodies such as the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) or the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). Checking their credentials helps ensure they meet industry standards and are properly trained.

What are the different types of massage services available in Kent?

Massage services vary widely. Common types include Swedish massage (for relaxation), deep tissue massage (for muscle tension), sports massage (for athletes), and aromatherapy massage (using essential oils). Discuss your needs and preferences with the therapist to determine the most suitable type for you.

How can I ensure the massage environment is safe and hygienic?

The massage environment should be clean and hygienic. Look for clean linens, a well-maintained space, and proper sanitation practices. The therapist should wash their hands before and after each session. If you have any concerns about hygiene, don't hesitate to raise them with the therapist.

What should I expect during my first massage session?

During your first session, the therapist will likely ask about your medical history and any specific concerns or areas of pain. They should explain the massage process and answer any questions you have. It's important to communicate openly with the therapist about your comfort level and any sensations you experience during the massage.
