About Us - The brainchild of Himalayan Master Bharat Thakur, Artistic Yoga was developed in 1999 when Bharat saw that the Yoga being taught and practiced all over the world and in India was in no way as powerful, dynamic and immediate as authentic Yoga could be. Bharat Thakur started the company with the vision of spreading a form of Yoga that would help people first get in shape, become disease-free and then move towards the higher practices akin to Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga. Thus was born the idea to develop a new form of Yoga.

An approach that used Asanas along with other Yogic techniques to work on all aspects of physical fitness – Flexibility, Strength, Cardiovascular Endurance, Agility and Coordinative Ability – to ensure that a person was optimally fit and alert in order to move towards higher practices like meditation.

Bharat Thakur combined his training in Yoga and his education in modern Exercise Physiology to develop this revolutionary system that was equally steeped in the authentic traditions as well as the methods employed in modern exercise physiology. A system where every class was structured for a specific purpose and yet unique and improvised. A system that was enjoyable and fun to practice but gave quick results.

Our Team - We are a global team of yoga experts trained by Himalayan Yogi Dr. Bharat Thakur with a strong grounding in the original culture and system of yoga. Yoga is a way of life for us rather than being a career path. Most of our teachers have had a varied background and a successful career in the fields of arts, science, psychology, engineering, finance, media etc. before finding their calling in yoga at some turning point in their life. We are on a constant journey to learn, unlearn and re-learn what’s essential to make authentic yoga and its power to transform available to people worldwide.
