Description

MEISTERSINGER
N03 Blackline Automatic Mens Watch
Black Line version with diamond-like carbon coating (DLC) finish.
Vintage saddle leather - cognac strap

This watch has never been worn and is fully boxed.

The MeisterSinger N° 03 combines the aesthetic principles of the modern single-hand watch with a highly energy-efficient drive in the form of a Swiss automatic movement that draws its power from the activity of the wearer. Under the sixfold screwed glass exhibition back of the watch, the centrally mounted oscillating rotor can be observed as it transmits its energy to the mainspring barrel, which can accumulate up to 38 hours of power reserve.

The N° 03 received the GOOD Design Award and was nominated for the German Design Award for its consistent design, its functional typography featuring a complete set of double-digit hour numerals, and the needle-shaped hour hand, which indicates the exact time down to five minutes on the circumferential minute scale. The stainless steel case of the N° 03 is 43 millimeters in diameter and water-resistant up to 5 bar. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire glass.

Single-hand watches – a concept with tradition
Whether on church towers, townhouses, table and wall clocks or even on the first portable timepieces - all of them had nothing more than a single hand up to the mid-18th century.

It was only modern times and the advent of industrialization that made it necessary to think in terms of increasingly short time periods. The clocks were gradually fitted with minute and second hands, which made people aware of the constant passing of valuable time.

MeisterSinger literally goes back to the beginnings of watchmaking and shows how relaxing it is to read time in the original way.

Even today, many historical church clocks have a single hand. For example the Westminster Abbey in London.
