Job Title: Sales Assistant
Location: Peckham, Balham, Shoreditch, or Croydon
Job Type: Full-Time: 8H shift flex
Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Sales Assistant to join our team at Jollof Junction, where you will play a key role in delivering exceptional experience to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong self determination, a hardworking attitude, and ability to control operations and multi-task.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service Excellence
Greet customers warmly, creating a welcoming environment.
Assist customers in selecting Jollof Junction products by providing information on nature/history of products .
Uphold Jollof Junction exceptional service standards by ensuring each customer interaction is personal, courteous, and attentive.
Handle customer inquiries and provide detailed information about product origins, flavors, and ingredients.
Sales and Upselling
Actively engage in upselling and cross-selling Jollof Junction products, such as promoting discounted products and mix and match options.
Achieve individual and team sales targets by fostering repeat business and building customer loyalty.
Accurately process customer orders, handle cash and card payments, and manage receipts efficiently.
Store Presentation and Stock Management
Ensure food products are clearly displayed.
Monitor inventory levels, restocking as necessary, and inform the kitchen of any shortages to prevent disruption to customer experience.
Assist with daily stock counts, inventory control, and managing stock rotation to ensure product freshness and quality.
Product Knowledge and Brand Representation
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Jollof Junction products, history, and values to effectively communicate them to customers.
Operational Support
Support outlet operations by participating in opening and closing routines, cleaning, and other duties that ensure a smooth outlet environment.
Adhere to health and safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards, particularly in handling food products.
Manage packaging for customer orders with precision and care, ensuring it meets Jollof Junction quality standards.
Qualifications:
Previous Food takeaway or restaurant or customer service experience, ideally within a West African or Nigerian food brand
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
Strong attention to detail, particularly in operational planning and sales maximisation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple customers and transactions with efficiency.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons.
Preferred Skills:
Passion for working in food or restaurant environment.
Knowledge/ Experience of West African cuisine will be an added advantage
Experience in using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
