Description
This is a used Humax Freeview Box with a RARE RF MODULATOR built in! It was made by a South Korean company and it is in a working condition as it was tested by myself.
It comes with it's original remote and manual and a scart cable, and as I have tested it, you can immediately connect to your TV and aerial and have a freeview enabled TV. It has a small screen on the front to tell you what channel you are on too which is useful. It also has a digital radio only button too on the front if you only want to use the digital radio.
It's great for a small LCD screen or small and older TV's without a freeview tuner. It's a small sized freeview box and silent in operation as it has no fan and is instead air cooled. It has a scart and composite connections too. It also has a RF modulator so it can be used on TV's with only a aerial connection and no scart connection available, which is perfect for VERY OLD televisions! RF modulators within freeview boxes are rare and the quality put out by the RF modulator within this Humax freeview is very good!
It has a problem that it doesn't store the EPG or programme information after a few minutes. Switching it off at the mains solves the problem but it happens again anyway. This is a common fault with this unit and is well documented by searching for it online. This also sometimes freezes the unit which then requires it to be switched off at the mains outlet and then plugged in again. Also it doesn't show some channels such as 'London Live' as maybe it's just too old of freeview box (it's 20 years old now) as I can't be sure of the main reason why though. Anyways if you aren't concerned with these problems than this freeview box is great to use!
The remote works well but the back cover locking tab for the batteries compartment is broken but a little blu tack has fixed this problem and keeps it in its place. Also some of the button symbols have faded away but it's simple enough to understand what each button does after a few minutes.
This Humax freeview box is good to go and can be used straight away!
