Description
Hello,
Here we have a stunning analogue film gem from the holy grail of film projector series, the Elf SNT range.
This is ideal if you have precious 16mm films that you need to care for. So if you work in an archive or film library, this projector is perfect for you.
This model of old projector is renowned for it's sturdy reliability.
The "S" in SNT stands for SLIM - yes, this later model is smaller than the other much bulkier Elf projectors. This obviously makes them less heavy - a welcome bonus if you are used to lugging tonnage of analogue machinery around.
Made by Elf of Japan. Known for their hard wearing durability and reliable running. Don't run your cherished 16mm prints on cheap, sub-standard kit. An investment in high-end analogue gear will serve you well for decades.
This model is the Elf SNT-1.
A highly sought after model as it was one of the latest models to be produced before the 16mm format died off in the 1980s.
Very sturdy build. Will run and run.
Films have been run on this machine recently: it projects a bright image and has clear sound.
Uses a dichroic lamp, very important when buying a vintage projector is to purchase one which has a lamp that is easily available.
Replacement lamps can be picked up from most electrical stores. Or online.
This projector runs sound and silent films at 24 frames per second.
Also has a freeze frame facility.
Unlike the SNT-0 projector in this series, the SNT-1 has a special surprise in its case cover. A cute feature is the removable cover that doubles as a portable speaker. To listen to the audio from 16mm films, place the speaker in the room and connect it to the projector for a very, very loud sound source to enliven your screenings. Use a 6.35mm jack cable.
The same sound output socket can be used to connect the projector to your stereo system or another separate sound system, though you may need to go via a DI box if you need very, very loud volume - e.g. projecting in a large hall.
