Private tutor role for girl with autism

Job role:

Part time private 1:1 tuition for 18 years old girl with ASD who is following a Curriculum supported by ABA (applied behaviour analysis) and Speech and Language therapy. This position is suitable for job sharers.

Salary: £12.5 during training period, then £15per hour .

Hours:

- 3 hours after school, Mon to Thu 3:30-6:30 pm during term time

- 8 hours on Fridays 9:00-17:00

- 8 hours during school holidays, 9:00-17:00

We are looking to work with an enthusiastic tutor to join our established team of tutors to provide after school and holiday lessons for a young 16 years old girl with autism diagnosis, who attends West Suffolk College.

The lessons consist of activities focusing on developing independence and functional Maths, English and Science skills, as well as extra-curriculum activities. The face to face lessons will take place in a dedicated classroom in parents home, on West side of Cambridge ( on Gough Way, off Barton Road).

The position could provide a valuable experience to a tutor who is passionate about supporting learners with neurodiversity achieve their potential and already has, or wishes to gain, experience in working with ASD children, in a team with ABA and speech and language therapist. There is training provided for the role with regular input from ABA consultant and SLT. Previous ABA experience or experience working with ASD children will be an advantage, but not essential as full training is provided. Previous therapists used the experience gained to pursue careers as teachers, clinical psychologists and educational psychologist and ABA professionals.
