1961 Triumph Trophy TR6R

This bike was purchased by me 14yrs ago, having been totally restored to a high standard. Duplex frame, 12v conversion. Pre unit / rebuilt engine,etc. In the 14yrs of ownership I have renewed, the carb`, battery,(3), all control cables, oil pump (morgo) LED lights, throttle twist-grip, stop light switch, plus; many other parts (bundle of receipts!) Transferable number plate, Stunning condition & has won many Awards, very much admired `in its Desert Sled style`. Triumph Club member TOMCC. This is `a truly `60s bike as it is identical to the 1961 TR6 I owned when I was 17 yrs of age! Going to the Ace, Busy Bee and The Cellar in Windsor (next to Eton Bridge) Thats over 60 yrs ago; when the Ace `was `the real thing` dirty & shabby`- but we loved it !!!! Finally, this is the same year & model Triumph TR6 that was used by Steve McQueen in The Great Escape- albeit disguised `as a German army bike` re: the famous jump! Only selling due to old age-cannot even `kick-it-over` to start it! Yes, the compression is that good! (but, not good for me at 77 yrs ) Only approx 1500 miles covered in my ownership. Dry stored in my large heated workshop- next to my home- which is 3 hours from London & 45 mins from Bristol `door to door` (I know as I have done it in that time!)
