HGV Class 1 Driver

Description

Due to expansion, we are currently recruiting for professional HGV Class1 drivers for day shift.

Job Description:

Customer based deliveries.

Day driver / Shunter, collection of loads from our customer base, to be collected and brought back to our yard, to be then delivered on by our fleet, some day deliveries.

- Undertake all roadworthy checks of Vehicles and Trailers as contained within the Rulebook for Motor Drivers

- In accordance with Company policy ensure that vehicles are driven with due care and attention when on the Public Highway ensuring that by means of correct driving the maximum possible economy is achieved

- Responsible for the safety of the load and the vehicle at all times and ensuring that where parked off site, the necessary security/safety requirements are met

- Perform any other duties as directed by your Line Manager as the Business requires, commensurate with your competency and abilities

-Responsible for the prompt advice to the Road Services Office if delays occur during the loading/unloading of Trailers in order that associated costs of delays can be forwarded to the Customer

Requirements:

- 2 years experience minimum

- No more than 3 minor points

- No DD DR or INS endorsement on your licence

- Digital Tachograph card

- Full driver CPC

- Strapping experience

- General Haulage experience

- Flexible approach to start times

- Excellent level of customer service

- Good communication

Pay: GBP14.00-GBP16.00 per hour
