Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver - Steel Flatbed / Curtainside (Tramping)

Location: Astley

Rate: GBP15.50 per hour PAYE (GBP17.37 with holiday pay) + GBP25 per night out allowance

Shifts: Monday to Friday - 06:00am starts Tramping (up to 5 nights out per week)

Job Overview:

Careermakers Recruitment is currently looking for experienced and professional Class 1 (C+E) drivers for a well-established transport operation in the Astley area. This role involves nationwide deliveries of steel using flatbed or curtainside trailers, with regular tramping throughout the week.

Key Responsibilities:

Nationwide trunking with no handballing involved

Operating flatbed and curtainside trailers

Secure loads using straps - experience with strapping is essential

Conduct daily vehicle checks and complete all relevant paperwork

Maintain professional standards at all times and follow health & safety procedures

Requirements:

Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence

Minimum 2 years of Class 1 driving experience (for insurance purposes)

Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

Previous experience with steel work and flatbed trailers is essential

Comfortable with tramping (up to 5 nights per week)

No more than 6 points on licence (no DD/DR/IN endorsements)
