Finance Administrator

Salary: Up to £13.50ph (depending on experience)

Location: New Milton / Hybrid

Hours: 35 Hours a week (Monday – Friday 9am – 5:00pm)

Contract: Temporary

Finance Administrator - New Milton / Hybrid

We're on the lookout for a dedicated Finance Administrator to join a thriving finance department within a leading UK company in the technology-enabled care sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in enhancing the safety and independence of vulnerable individuals through your financial administrative support, with a focus on Direct Debit collections.

Our client, a significant player in the technology-enabled care sector, is at the forefront of simplifying the digital telecare switchover. They are dedicated to innovating solutions that ensure vulnerable individuals can maintain their safety and independence as the UK transitions to digital telephone networks.

What You'll Be Doing:

In this comprehensive role, you'll be the backbone of our finance operations, with primary responsibility for Direct Debit management, alongside other vital administrative tasks:

Direct Debit Processing (Core Focus):

* Sending out and inputting new Direct Debit mandates.

* Producing and meticulously checking Direct Debit schedules.

* Processing monthly Direct Debit collections, along with timely posting, checking, and reconciliation of any rejections.

* Preparing, checking, and processing monthly Direct Debit invoicing.

* Handling all Direct Debit-related queries and correspondence, including updating the system.

Payment & Post Handling:

* Efficiently processing cheques received.

* Taking secure card payments via telephone.

* Managing and distributing Royal Mail post within the New Milton office.

* Posting letters that cannot be sent via online services.

Credits & Account Closure:

* Timely and accurate processing of credits and account closures.

* Following up diligently on refunds and outstanding debts, or reporting to the Credit Controller as needed.

Other Administrative Duties:

* Handling incoming Finance phone calls and assisting customers with all finance-related queries.

* Dealing with customer queries requiring call-backs.

* Supporting with ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.

What We're Looking For

Experience

* Previous experience in an administrative role is preferred.

* Previous experience in Direct Debit processing is highly desirable.

* Experience working in a Finance environment is a plus.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe PDFs is essential.

* Familiarity with Microsoft Applications – Business Central is a bonus.

Skills & Knowledge:

* Strong administrative and organisational skills.

* Excellent communication and call handling abilities.

* Highly accurate, numerate, and computer literate.

* Good knowledge of Direct Debit processes and Accounting Systems.

* Familiarity with statutory rules and regulations is an advantage.

Personal Attributes:

* Strong customer focus and excellent customer service skills.

* Exceptional attention to detail.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with discretion.

* Capable of working under pressure and towards deadlines.

* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to use initiative in problem-solving.

* Reliable and hard-working, with the ability to follow procedures and multi-task.

Qualifications:

Educated to GCSE level.

Basic or Intermediate Excel skills. Accounting or similar qualifications are desirable.
