About the role

This is a unique opportunity for anyone who is looking to get into working in schools, particularly working with children with SEND. You will undergo additional training courses within SEND, such as Behaviour Management and Special Needs Awareness to help give you the background knowledge and head start that is needed.

You will be working in a local Primary school, working on a 1-1 basis with a variety of children with special educational needs. Most children have either Autism and/ or ADHD and often struggle with emotional regulation.

About the school

This school is based in the Huntingdon/ Ramsey area of Cambridgeshire it is a hard working and forward thinking school with a genuine commitment to inclusion of all learners.

You will be working from 8:30-15:30, Monday-Friday during term time.

The successful candidate will hold a positive outlook, flexibility and strong reliability to help ensure consistency for the pupils.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

Be available to work, full-time

Have experience of working with children

Have experience of working with people with special educational needs (ideal but not essential)

Have a calm and positive approach and a willingness to look for route causes for negative behaviour choices and to identify triggers

To have a positive outlook

To have a genuine desire and passion to work with pupils with additional needs

You must also...

Be able to provide evidence of full, clear DBS clearance

Be able to provide 2 recent references to support your employment

Ideally be able to drive and have access to a car

Salary

£415 to £450 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

To hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one with us

To undergo the additional training required
