Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools (KS1/KS2)

Location: Wakefield & surrounding areas Contract: Full-time / Part-time Start Date: Immediate & ongoing opportunities

We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated Teaching Assistants to support children across KS1 and KS2 in vibrant, welcoming primary schools. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to deliver high‑quality support, provide targeted interventions, and help create a positive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils in KS1/KS2

Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management

Support children with phonics, reading, writing, and maths

Help adapt learning materials to meet individual needs

Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parentsWhat We're Looking For

Experience working with children in a school or similar setting

A genuine passion for supporting primary-aged learners

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach

Knowledge of the KS1/KS2 curriculum (desirable)

Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA, childcare, or equivalent) are beneficial but not essentialWhat We Offer
