Teaching Assistant - SEN

Reeson Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive special school in Chichester to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a wide range of complex needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEND. The role involves supporting learning, wellbeing, and independence across the school day.

About the Teaching Assistant Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups across a range of activities

Assist with planning and preparing resources for lessons

Promote physical and emotional wellbeing under the guidance of teaching staff

Help pupils develop independence and self-help skills

Support therapy programmes and personal care routines

Supervise pupils during break and lunch times, encouraging positive play and social interaction

Create a positive learning environment through classroom organisation and displays

Use IT to support learning and maintain accurate recordsThis role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is caring, patient, and committed to inclusive education.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting

Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a sense of humour

Has a good standard of written and spoken English

Understands the varied needs of children with SEND

Is confident using behaviour management techniques

Is a Teaching Assistant who works well as part of a team and communicates effectively

Is flexible, reliable, and committed to safeguarding and equality
