Teaching Assistant – Secondary School in Andover (EHCP Support)

Start Date: October 2025 – Long Term with Potential to Go Permanent

Salary: £85 – £100 per day (Dependent on Experience)

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday

Location: Andover

The Role:

A welcoming secondary school in Andover is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from October. This is a long-term role with the exciting possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The position is focused on supporting students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), working both 1:1 and in small groups. You’ll be making a genuine difference to students’ educational, social, and emotional development, ensuring they can thrive in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with EHCPs.

Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to individual learning needs.

Encourage and promote positive behaviour, supporting both academic and personal development.

Contribute to creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.

Monitor progress and share feedback with teachers and the wider support team.

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience supporting students with EHCPs, SEN, or similar needs.

A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with staff, students, and parents.

Patience, empathy, and resilience.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Relevant qualifications in Education or Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable but not essential.
