Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School

Location: Southwark, London

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Term Time Only - Until July 2026 (with potential to extend or secure a permanent contract)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Daily Rate: £90-£100 (PAYE) increasing to £110-£120 from week 13

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Southwark to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream setting. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance, ensuring every child can thrive both academically and socially.

Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN

Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning plans

Supporting pupils' social and emotional development

Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO

Has prior experience supporting children with SEN (school or similar setting)

Can build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils and staff

Is patient, adaptable, and committed to helping children succeed

Can commit to the full academic year
