Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional learning needs and building a career with real purpose? A welcoming and inclusive SEND school in Wolverhampton is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to truly make a difference in pupils' lives.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be working closely with children and young people who have special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD. Whether providing one-to-one support or working with small groups, you'll help deliver tailored learning activities and emotional support, ensuring every pupil feels included, valued, and empowered to succeed. You'll collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams to foster a supportive and positive learning environment.

Your work may involve structured interventions, social and emotional support, and helping pupils regulate behaviour in a nurturing and constructive way. Each day will bring new opportunities to help students reach personal and educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the learning and development of pupils with diverse SEND needs

Deliver targeted tasks based on EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)

Maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment

Use positive strategies to assist with emotional regulation and behaviour

Encourage independence and celebrate pupil progress

Build strong, supportive relationships with both students and colleaguesWhat We're Looking For:

Confidence in supporting children with behavioural or communication challenges

Ability to work well within a team and take initiative when needed
