We are currently working with a special needs provisions across Barnsley, we are looking for SEND Teaching Assistants for Sept 2025 As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs and disabilities.

Job Specification

Assist pupils with physical disabilities and complex medical needsTo provide quality support to the class teacher and other teaching assistantsBe willing to work on a 121 basis and small groupsBe willing to provide personal/intimate care to students aged 2–19Support students with their social and emotional developmentMonitor and record the progress of the students and provide feedback to the class teacher and parents when requiredAssist in creating visual aids, resources and learning materials to enhance the learning experience for each studentProvide positive reinforcement for students and encourage their development Person specification

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar setting or have a strong care backgroundHas good communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectivelyIs patient empathetic and able to build strong working relationships with students and other members of staffHas the ability to work as part of a team and also independently when required If you have a passion for SEND and want to make a difference, apply now for immediate consideration
