Job Opportunity: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN) Tameside, Greater Manchester

Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester

Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)

Contract Type: Full–time / Term–time only

Start Date: September 2025

Salary: GBP90 – GBP105 daily (based on experience and qualifications)

We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work closely with a child with additional needs in a supportive school environment in the Tameside area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to positively impact a pupil's educational and emotional development.

Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and reach their potential.

Support with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.

Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.

Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where the child can thrive.

Requirements: Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, learning difficulties) is highly desirable.

A calm, resilient, and flexible approach to challenges.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or support work is an advantage.

An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
