Teacher – Young Offenders Education

Location: Telford

Contract Type: Full Time

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

About the Role

We are looking for an inspiring and resilient Teacher to join our education team working within a Young Offender Institution in Telford. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who have faced significant challenges in education and life.

You will deliver engaging and accessible lessons that help learners gain valuable qualifications, develop essential life skills, and build confidence in their own abilities.

Key Responsibilities

*

Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in.

*

Support learners aged 15–21 with a range of educational, social, and emotional needs.

*

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment within a secure setting.

*

Assess and record learner progress in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements.

*

Work closely with prison staff, mentors, and other professionals to support learners’ personal and academic development.

*

Promote positive attitudes, resilience, and respect through learning.

About You

*

A qualified teacher.

*

Experience teaching young people with additional learning needs, challenging behaviour, or disengagement from education.

*

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

*

Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to inclusion and rehabilitation.

*

The ability to adapt teaching styles to meet a wide range of abilities and learning needs.

*

Willingness to work within the rules and procedures of a secure environment (training provided).
