Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who enjoys working in a busy, active and rewarding SEND environment?

Remedy Education is looking for a confident and proactive Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Barking Riverside.

You will be supporting a small specialist provision consisting of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, many of whom have Autism, complex needs and significant communication difficulties.

Some pupils are pre–verbal, and personal care forms an important part of the role. We need someone who understands the demands of a complex SEND classroom and can confidently support children throughout the school day.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting pupils with Autism, complex SEND and communication needs.

Working with pre–verbal children to develop communication and engagement.

Providing intimate care and assisting with personal routines.

Supporting behaviour, sensory needs and emotional regulation.

Helping children access learning through structured play and activities.

Working closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Strong practical experience supporting children with complex SEND.

Experience working with pre–verbal or non–verbal pupils.

Confident providing intimate and personal care.

Comfortable supporting highly active children with significant needs.

Patient, resilient, energetic and able to use initiative.

Experience in a specialist SEND classroom, SEN school or additionally resourced provision would be particularly beneficial.

The Opportunity

Full–time position, Monday to Friday.

Long–term placement until the end of the academic year.

Strong potential for extension or permanent employment.

Competitive daily rate.

If you have the right experience and are looking for a rewarding SEN role, we'd love to hear from you.
