1:1 Teaching Assistant – Isle of Sheppey

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Until July 2026)

Location: Isle of Sheppey, Kent

Are you a caring and committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEND)? Are you able to travel to the Isle of Sheppey and looking for a long-term opportunity in a supportive school?

Supply Desk are delighted to be working with one of our gorgeous two-form entry primary schools on the Isle of Sheppey, who are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND. This full-time, long-term role begins ASAP (September 2025) and continues for the remainder of the academic year.

About the Role:

Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND in a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support

Support the child’s social, emotional, and academic development

Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

Help with personal care and emotional regulation where required

Monitor and record progress in line with the pupil’s support plan

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly on a 1:1 basis

A warm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children

Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential

Confidence in managing behaviour and promoting positive relationships

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

A valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

Own transport or reliable means of travel to the Isle of Sheppey
