Academics are proud to be working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Bradford, who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with high-functioning autism and anxiety-related emotional needs.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for someone with experience in SEND and a calm, consistent approach to emotional regulation and learning support.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil throughout the school day

Supporting the pupil to access the Year 3 Maths curriculum and Year 2 English curriculum at their own pace

Helping the pupil manage anxiety, build confidence, and develop emotional regulation strategies

Supporting the class teacher and SENCO in adapting and delivering resources in line with the pupil's EHCP

Building positive and trusting relationships to enable a safe and engaging learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with autism and emotional/mental health needs

Knowledge of differentiated learning strategies, particularly for children working below age-related expectations

A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach to behaviour management

Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with staff and parents

A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable
