Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant – Make Every Day Count

Location: Swindon

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £85–£100 per day

Do you want a role where you can truly change a child’s day — and their future?

Are you patient, compassionate, and ready to support children with complex needs in reaching their full potential?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Swindon that provides exceptional education and care for children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, Autism, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs.

The school is more than a place of learning — it’s a place where pupils are encouraged to explore, communicate, and grow in confidence, working towards greater independence, autonomy, and choice.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a skilled and supportive team. If you thrive on helping children overcome barriers and achieve both personal and academic progress, this could be the perfect role for you.

The Role

Support students across Key Stages 1 and 2, both 1:1 and in small groups

Assist learners with Autism/ASD, ADHD, MLD/SLD, sensory and communication needs, and physical or medical conditions

Provide both practical and emotional support to encourage engagement and well-being

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience supporting children with complex SEND and/or physical disabilities

Knowledge of or interest in sensory processing, communication strategies, or medical support

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs

Level 2 or 3 CACHE qualification (or equivalent)

Team-Teach or MAPA training (desirable, but not essential)

A calm, adaptable, and resilient nature, with a strong sense of empathy

What You’ll Receive

A dedicated consultant available 24/7 to support you from application to placement

Guaranteed Payment Scheme (T&Cs apply)

Access to CPD courses and My-Progression certificates

Market-leading rates of pay

Referral scheme – earn up to £100 for recommending a friend (T&Cs apply)

PAYE basis – no hidden admin fees

If you’re ready to join a school that values teamwork, compassion, and progress, and you want to make a genuine difference every single day, we’d love to hear from you.
