SEND Teaching Assistant – Lovely Primary School in Islington

Full–time Term Time Only 90– 101 per day (PAYE)

A welcoming and well–regarded one–form entry primary school in Islington is seeking a caring and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full–time, long–term role is perfect for someone passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young children with special educational needs.

Position Overview:

Start Date: September 2025

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 3:45pm

Pay Rate: 90 – 101 per day (PAYE)

Contract: Long–term, term time only

Your Role Will Include:

Supporting pupils in Reception and Year 1 with Autism, both 1:1 and in small groups

Assisting with learning activities, as well as leading intervention sessions outside the classroom

Helping children with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and overall wellbeing

Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised strategies

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Has previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism

Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach in the classroom

Is confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs in a positive and calm manner

Works well both independently and as part of a wider team
