Location: Upminster, Havering

Salary: £90 – 95 per day

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible)

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join our Upminster team. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner or a passionate individual looking to build a career in Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with the SENCO and Class Teachers to provide tailored support for pupils with needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, or Global Development Delay, ensuring they can access the curriculum and flourish socially.

Key Responsibilities

* Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis, following their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.

* Adapt classroom activities to ensure they are accessible and engaging for students with diverse needs.

* Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, attainment, and positive behaviour.

* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development through patient and empathetic interaction.

* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and the wider school team regarding student milestones.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (school-based or similar settings).

* Demonstrate strong patience, resilience, and a "child-centred" approach to learning.

* Have a clear understanding of assessment and how to track small steps of progress.

* Show commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

* Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills.
