SEN Tutor

Description

Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate and experienced Education Professional to provide 1:1 tuition support for a young person in the Brighton area. This young person has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and a diagnosis of ASD. They require tailored support primarily in the home environment, with some hours dedicated to accompanying them to external activities 12 hours per week.

As a n SEN Tutor you will:

Deliver supportive and engaging sessions in the home, aligned with the child's EHCPAccompany the child to activities such as swimming sessions, farm based activities, and educational visitsFoster a calm, consistent, and nurturing environment to support emotional regulation and learningWork collaboratively with the family and wider support team to ensure continuity and progressAbout you:

Experience working with children with ASD or similar needsUnderstanding of EHCPs and how to implement them in a home–based settingPatience, empathy, and a child–centred approachAbility to support learning through practical, interest–led activitiesPosition – SEN Tutor

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools– ESSENTIALBackground in SEN education or therapeutic supportExperience supporting children in community or outdoor settingsTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

Hold right to work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide references upon requestPossess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
