SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Salford Secondary School

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Salford on a full-time basis.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 11-16 who have a range of additional needs, including Autism. You will provide both one-to-one and small group support, helping students to access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Support students with SEN, including those with Autism.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

Provide tailored support to meet individual learning needs.

Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Help create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN

Experience supporting students with Autism is highly advantageous.

A patient, caring, and proactive approach.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
