SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in education?

Teach is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across a range of mainstream schools and specialist settings.

We have a variety of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term, long-term and permanent roles. Whether you're looking for flexibility or a more consistent placement, we'll work with you to find a position that suits your skills, experience and availability.

Working Hours

* Monday to Friday

* Typical school hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm (hours may vary depending on the school)

What You'll Be Doing

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be responsible for:

* Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups

* Assisting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties

* Encouraging pupils to engage with learning and achieve their individual goals

* Working alongside teachers to deliver tailored learning activities

* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

* Supporting pupils in line with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where appropriate

* Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

* Following all school safeguarding and behaviour policies

What We're Looking For

To be successful, you'll have:

* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care or similar setting

* A calm, patient and caring approach

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

* Confidence working as part of a team

* A flexible and proactive attitude

* A genuine commitment to helping every child reach their potential

Desirable but not essential:

* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

* Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs

* Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
