Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a welcoming and inclusive school in North Shields.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential within a supportive UK classroom environment.

The Role

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD. Assist in implementing individual learning and behaviour support plans. Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development. Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff. Help create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning. The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience supporting children with ASD in a UK school or classroom setting. Strong understanding of SEN strategies and autism–friendly approaches. Patient, caring, and adaptable with excellent communication skills. Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential. What We Offer
