SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – Trowbridge Area

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs? We are currently looking for a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced Special Needs School in the Trowbridge area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly supportive team in a school that caters for students aged 4 to 19, all with a range of complex and moderate learning needs, including ASD, SLD and PMLD.

About the School:

A well-established, community-focused special school with a child-centred approach

Provides a personalised, skills-based curriculum preparing students for adulthood

On-site therapeutic services to support students’ emotional and physical wellbeing

Strong links with families and the wider community

Easily accessible from Southwick, Yarnbrook, Staverton, and surrounding areas

What We're Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (preferred)

Confident working 1:1 or in small groups

Friendly, flexible and patient approach to learning support

Good understanding of ASD, SLD or PMLD (training can be provided)

Behaviour management skills are a plus

Moving & Handling experience (or willingness to train)

Access to your own transport due to the school’s location

A genuine passion for inclusive education and a desire to help young people thrive

Willingness to complete relevant CPD training

Salary

£445-£470 per week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
