SEN Teaching Assistant

1:1 Behaviour Support (Year 6 - Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties)

Location: Southwark

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £90 - £100 PAYE per day

Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term (Full academic year)

Hours: 8.15am - 3.35pm, Monday to Friday, term time only

Are you a confident and consistent SEN Teaching Assistant with strong skills in behaviour management and setting clear boundaries?

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a primary school in Southwark who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 6 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

The child requires structured, consistent support throughout the school day. This includes managing challenging behaviour, applying calm and clear strategies, and providing time-out sessions when necessary. With the right support in place, the child has already shown excellent progress - and your role will be key in helping them transition smoothly into secondary school.

The ideal person:

Proven experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or other SEN

A calm, patient, and nurturing manner while being firm, consistent, and fair

Strong behaviour management strategies and the ability to set and maintain clear boundaries

The ability to work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support

A genuine commitment to inclusion and helping every child thrive academically and emotionally

This is a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant role for the full academic year, working closely with school staff to provide consistent 1:1 behaviour support and create a safe, structured environment for learning.

Why join SANZA Teaching Agency?

We offer:

Specialist guidance and support throughout your placement

Free CPD and training in SEN and behaviour management

A dedicated consultant who values your skills, time, and career goals

If you are passionate about SEN, confident in behaviour support, and ready to make a real difference in a child's education - we want to hear from you.
