SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Smethwick, Birmingham B66

Pay Rate: £(Apply online only)

Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

We're working with a mainstream primary school in Smethwick to find a compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.

You'll work closely with a pupil who requires tailored, consistent support throughout the school day. This role is ideal for someone who thrives when making a direct impact and building meaningful relationships with children who need that extra bit of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, including autism and/or speech & language needs

Support learning across all subjects, adapting materials to suit individual needs

Help with emotional regulation and social development

Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adjust support strategies

Ensure the pupil feels included, safe, and encouraged every dayWe're Looking For:

Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting

Confident working 1:1 with pupils with additional needs

Patient, calm, and empathetic approach to learning and behaviour
