The Role SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Southwark. You will:

Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and complex needs. Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities. Support colleagues with personal care duties where required. Work collaboratively with the teaching team to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Follow school policies on Safeguarding, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, and Health & Safety.

Requirements SEN Teaching Assistant

Experience supporting children with ASD and related behavioural needs. Minimum of 3 months experience as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (or equivalent). A genuine commitment to working with children with special educational needs. Ability to remain calm and effective when managing challenging behaviour. Flexible and adaptable, with a patient and proactive approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of SEN students.
