Are you passionate about helping children overcome their academic, social and emotional barriers to learning?

Would you enjoy guiding a Reception child with Autism, through their first year of their primary education?

Scholar Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded primary school, that sat within the top 10% of schools in their borough for SAT’s results, along with catering for not just the academic needs by providing a regular counselling service to their pupils.

The Opportunity: SEN Teaching Assistant

* A wonderful primary school based in Hackney, East London

* Full-time role - term time only until July

* Work with an experienced and respected teacher who will mentor and guide you.

* Support a Reception boy with Autism.

* He can be anxious with no severe behavioural issues

* This is a role to help with emotional regulation and encourage participation

* Perfect for aspiring teachers and psychologists alike – develop your practical understanding of how children learn and the strategies that come with that

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant must:

* Be confident, adaptable with lots of enthusiasm to get the best out of the pupil

* Be confident in core areas of the curriculum such as Literacy and Numeracy

* Be a degree holder

* Be able to work effectively as part of a large team

* Have strong communication skills

* Be able to inspire and motivate children in the classroom
