Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Area: Dagenham, East London

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full–time, Long–term

Salary: 103 – 110 per day

Working hours: 8:00am – 3:30pm

Support primary pupils with ASD and complex needs in a nurturing school environment.

About the school:

This is a supportive primary school in Dagenham that caters for children with autism and complex needs. Staff work closely together to provide an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.

About the role:

The SEN Teaching Assistant will work 1:1 and in small groups, supporting children with autism, communication difficulties, and other complex needs. The role involves assisting with learning, behaviour support, and personal care where required. Full training and support will be provided.

We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:

Support children with ASD and complex needs in classPromote independence, communication, and social skillsWork closely with teachers and therapists to implement learning plansProvide a safe and positive learning environmentRequirements – The ideal candidate would have:

Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally ASD and complex needsA patient, caring, and resilient approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsThe ability to use initiative and adapt to changing needsAn enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to applyOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted
