SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Barking and Dagenham

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: supply and long-term working options

Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

Year groups: nursery to year 6

Tradewind are looking for supply teaching assistants to support local Barking and Dagenham schools with daily and long-term cover, within a range of primary ages.

Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs in a school setting

Confidence supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups (phonics experience/ SATS intervention experience desirable)

Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and staff

Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

A good understanding of child development and IEP and EHCP targetsEssential Compliance for Teaching Assistants:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

Right to work in the UK

Your CV must contain all work since leaving formal education

2 professional references (within the last 2 years)
