SEN Teaching Assistant (Part time)

Location: Acock's Green, Birmingham B27

Weekly Pay: £(Apply online only)

Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only), 8:30 - 12:00 (part time)

Start Date: 01/09/2025

Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

We are seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a bright and friendly Year 1 boy with autism. This is a mornings-only role, ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference while enjoying a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent 1:1 support, helping him engage with learning activities.

Use clear communication and visual supports to aid understanding.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt resources and approaches.

Support his social and emotional development through positive interaction.

Encourage independence while ensuring his needs are met.Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience supporting primary-aged children with autism (ASD) is essential.

Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust and rapport.

Understanding of autism strategies such as visual timetables, sensory breaks, and structured routines.
