Description

Are you a patient, compassionate, and skilled professional with a passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brent is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one and small group basis with students requiring additional support from September 2025.

About the School

This thriving and community-focused secondary school in North West London is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised education for all learners. With a well-resourced SEN department and a strong ethos of inclusion, this school takes pride in celebrating diversity, promoting wellbeing, and equipping every student with the tools they need to succeed.

The Role

As a Specialist SEN TA, your primary focus will be supporting students with ASD across Key Stages 3 to 5. You will help assess individual needs, implement tailored interventions, and support the development of communication, behaviour regulation, and social interaction skills. You’ll work closely with SENCOs, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure holistic and targeted support.

Requirements:

• Have proven experience supporting young people with ASD, ideally in a school setting.

• Be confident in implementing strategies such as PECS, visual timetables, and sensory regulation techniques.

• Show strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a calm and empathetic approach.

• Be proactive, flexible, and committed to the progress and wellbeing of the students you support.

Benefits:

• A supportive and experienced SEN team.

• Ongoing CPD and training in autism strategies and intervention techniques.

• A warm, inclusive working environment.

• Excellent transport links across Brent and surrounding boroughs.

Make a meaningful difference in a young person’s life every day. If you’re passionate about supporting students with ASD and ready to be part of a caring school community, we’d love to hear from you.
