Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Burton-On-Trent

Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team in Burton-On-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with diverse needs and help them thrive in a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

Role Overview:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you’ll work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support students with a range of special educational needs. You’ll provide tailored assistance, foster a positive learning atmosphere, and help students overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

Support students with special educational needs in both one-on-one and group settings.

Assist classroom teachers in delivering differentiated and inclusive lessons.

Help manage behaviour and promote positive social interactions.

Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.

Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents.

Promote a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.

Ability to provide a ten-year career history with references covering the last two years, including your most recent educational role.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
