This is an exciting opportunity to support and empower pupils with special educational needs in a caring and inclusive environment.

The Role:

We are looking for a motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support to pupils across a range of age groups. In this temporary role, you will be responsible for delivering targeted support and interventions that meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEN, while also contributing to the wider school community. This role could become permanent depending on the person.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted SEN support strategies and learning activities that help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Monitor and assess pupils’ progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs.

Contribute to the development and implementation of personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.

Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development through positive reinforcement and behaviour management strategies.

Maintain a positive and inclusive environment that promotes well-being, engagement, and mutual respect.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience supporting students with SEN in a primary or secondary school.

Qualifications: A recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

Training: Knowledge of SEN support strategies, behaviour management, and de-escalation techniques. Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.

Skills: Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a compassionate and adaptable approach to supporting individual learning needs.

Background Checks:

All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one that is registered to the update service. Location:
