SEN Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start | Stockport | 1:1 Support

Smile Education Northwest is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a secondary-aged student with additional needs (ASC/ADHD/SEMH). This is a long-term opportunity to make a real impact and grow your experience in a supportive, specialist environment.

Role Overview:

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Location: Stockport

Start: Immediate

Contract: Long-term, full-time (with permanent opportunities available)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 classroom and intervention support to a student with ASC and ADHD

Implement effective de-escalation techniques and emotional regulation strategies

Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents/carers

Support the student’s academic, emotional and social development

Requirements:

Experience supporting young people with SEN / ASC / ADHD / SEMH

Level 2 TA qualification or a relevant degree preferred

A driving licence and willingness to obtain business insurance

Resilient, empathetic, and calm under pressure

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
