Description

Are you an experienced and passionate teacher with a strong commitment to Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are supporting an Alternative Education Provider who is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher

This unique role combines classroom teaching with significant responsibility for the development and oversight of our school's SEN provision, aiming to raise the achievement of our SEN students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives.

Facilitate dynamic learning by building strong relationships with students and effectively organising learning resources and the classroom environment.

Cultivate and foster appropriate skills and social abilities to ensure the optimal development of children, considering their age, ability, and aptitude.

Assess and meticulously record student progress, preparing them effectively for examinations.

Link students' current knowledge to earlier learning, devising creative ways to encourage deeper understanding.

Challenge and inspire students to deepen their knowledge and understanding across subjects.

Implementing provisions to ensure the progress of pupils with SEN improves relative to those without SEN, consistently adhering to the SEND Code of Practice.

Ensuring the school fulfils its statutory responsibilities regarding all students with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

Coordinating and attending EHCP annual reviews and monitoring internal reviews of Individual Education Plans (IEDPs).

Contributing to the development of SEN provision across the region.

Monitoring progress towards targets for all students with SEN.

Analysing and interpreting relevant school, local, and national data related to SEN.

Liaising effectively with staff, parents, external agencies, and other schools to coordinate contributions, maximise support, and ensure continuity of provision.

Supporting the identification and dissemination of the most effective teaching approaches for individual pupils with SEN and those with potential undiagnosed needs.

Collaborating with staff to develop effective strategies for bridging barriers to learning

This role will be suited for those with relevant experience teaching within a SEN class or QTS Teachers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
