SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist Autism Provision

We are currently recruiting to support a highly regarded specialist provision in Telford, which supports students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This setting is seeking a committed and capable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September.

The school caters exclusively to students with ASC and is committed to delivering individualised learning programmes that promote communication, independence, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality support to students with ASC on a 1:1 and small-group basis

- Implement structured learning routines and autism-specific strategies, such as visual schedules, sensory regulation techniques, and alternative communication methods

- Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities that meet each student's needs

- Foster a positive, respectful and inclusive learning environment that encourages student confidence and participation

- Work collaboratively with the wider support team, including therapists, SENCOs, and families, to ensure consistent and effective support for each pupil

Candidate Requirements:

- Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition, either in education, care, or a related field

- A calm, empathetic, and professional approach to supporting complex needs

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with students who require routine, predictability, and patience

- A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential

- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)

How to Apply:

If you are an experienced SEN practitioner - or someone with the right values and a willingness to learn - we would be delighted to hear from you. Please submit your CV or contact us directly for a confidential discussion.
